For everyone who lifts: a program that grows from your sets.

Every kilo has a reason. Wellbuilt shows under every exercise what you lifted last time, and adjusts today's load to how you slept and how you feel. When a block ends, it builds the next one from your last 4 weeks of sets.

  • Five programs: powerbuilding, powerlifting, bodybuilding, health and fitness, conditioning.
  • Every rule with its study, or a label saying there is none.
  • On your phone, no app store install. In English and Slovenian, with 11 more European languages coming soon.

You got a number. You didn't get a reason.

The program says: 100 kg today. It doesn't say why 100. It doesn't know you slept five hours. It doesn't know your knee hurts. And when the block ends, the next number is a guess again.

So you can't tell if the load is right. And when it isn't, you can't fix it with a reason.

How it works

Every kilo has a reason.

Four things set the load on the bar. You see all four.

Each side: 25 + 15

A program from your answers, not from a template.

You answer a few questions: goal, experience, how many days a week, how many minutes, what equipment you have, whether anything hurts. Wellbuilt picks one of five programs and tells you why that one. You choose the length, from 4 to 16 weeks, or take the recommended 8. Got a meet? The program ends on meet day, with a 13-day peak.

Under every exercise: what you lifted last time.

"Last time, 3 Oct: 100 x 8, 8, 7 at RPE 8." Under it, today's target. The plus and minus buttons step by one plate on the bar or one dumbbell in the rack, and you see which plates go on each side. The load didn't fall from the sky. It came from your last session.

Today's target

100 kg

Each side: 25 + 15

Rule in this example: when all three sets reach 8 reps, the load goes up 2.5 kg. Double progression, a coaching convention.

Slept badly? The load knows.

Before training, a short check: sleep, muscles, energy, stress, motivation. The verdict shows right away and changes the load, for example 6 % less, with the reason next to it. If something hurts or you have an injury, exercises for that area are swapped or left out. During an exercise you press the pain button and get guidance: go lighter or stop. It is not a diagnosis. If something hurts, see a doctor or physiotherapist.

How we score readiness is our own convention, not a study result. The Science page says so plainly.

1 poor, 5 goodExample

Readiness 80/100: load 0 %.

The next block grows from what you lifted.

When a block ends, one button builds the next one. It keeps your answers from before and takes the maxes from your last 4 weeks of sets. If you got stronger, it shows. If you didn't, that shows too.

Want more precision? Film a set from the side with your phone and get bar speed and an estimate of how hard it was. The video stays on your phone. The reading is approximate, from a single side view, and sometimes it says: unclear.

Epley estimate from the last 4 weeks. It never drops below the stored max; that is a convention.

Every rule shows its study. Or says there is none.

Behind every training and nutrition rule are published human studies, with a label for how strong the evidence is. Where there is no study, it says: convention. For example, how many weeks until a deload. Don't know what RPE is? Tap the word and it explains itself.

Three steps to your first session

  1. Answer the questions.

    Goal, days, equipment, pain.

  2. Get your program.

Every session and every exercise, with the reason for every weight.

  3. Go train.

The app guides you set by set, with rest and the reason for it.

Everything for training, in one program

Today.
Your session for today, the readiness check and your streak of sessions kept.
Session.
One exercise at a time, the next set big in the middle, a rest timer with the reason for that rest time.
Program.
Calendar, blocks and a periodization chart. Swap, add or remove an exercise.
Progress.
Weekly volume per muscle, estimated max history, personal records.
Nutrition.
Calorie and macro targets from your weight, activity, training and goal. A 14-day weight trend corrects the estimate. Food diary, meal suggestions from 20 dishes, recipes and a shopping list. Tell it what you don't eat among the 14 EU allergens, and suggestions respect it. Still read the label.
Body.
Weight, body fat by measuring method, flexibility.
Conditioning.
Cycling in the same plan: mostly easy, a little hard, after lifting.
Warm-up.
Warm-up before lifting, stretching on rest days.
Exercise guides.
How to do it, usual mistakes, why it is in the program, and a demo video.
With a partner.
Join a friend's session while it is running, with loads from your own maxes.

Science

Studies you can check

56 training and nutrition rules. 171 distinct studies, each with a PMID number you can look up on PubMed. Every rule is labelled by how strong the evidence is: strong, moderate, weak or none.

And where there is no study, it says so. For example: when the deload week comes, or how long a session is. Those are coaching conventions and they are labelled that way.

  • Stretching goes on rest days, not before lifting.

Stretching does not prevent injury or muscle soreness.

  • Cycling, not running, alongside strength training.

    Lift first, then ride.

What Wellbuilt is not, plainly

  • Not on the App Store or Google Play.

It is a web app you add to your phone's home screen.

  • Strength programs need a barbell.

Without one, the health and fitness program is for you.

  • It does not connect to a watch or Apple Health.

You type in weight, body fat and sets, or import them.

  • It does not diagnose.

For pain or injury, see a doctor or physiotherapist.

Questions

Do I have to pay before I see the program?

No. You answer the questions and see which program fits you. Only then do you choose a plan.

What if the load doesn't fit?

You always see where it comes from: your last set, today's check, your pain. You change the load with a button, by one plate or one dumbbell. What you lift goes into the next block.

I don't understand RPE. Is that a problem?

No. RPE means how hard it was. Every technical term in the app explains itself when you tap it.

I have an injury. Can I still train?

Tell it what hurts or what you injured, and exercises for that area are swapped or left out. If you answered yes on the health screen, you start gently. The app does not diagnose. Talk to a doctor or physiotherapist before you start.

What about cardio?

Cycling is in the same plan, mostly easy rides, a few hard ones.

I train at home.

The strength programs need a barbell. Without one, the health and fitness program is for you.
